What is this Region?
The Pilbara is one of the largest regions in WA, representing 20 per cent of Western Australia’s land mass. Approximately 1200 km north of Perth, the region’s history dates back 40,000 years with evidence of the Aboriginal population living off the land, and the mineral rich region of spectacular scenery is thought to be around 2.8 billion years old.
Often described as the engine room of the nation because of its immense reserves of natural resources, the Pilbara is also blessed with stunning natural beauty boasting striking landscapes and a rich and diverse cultural heritage. The Pilbara covers a total area of 507,896 square kilometres extending from the Indian Ocean to the Northern Territory border (including offshore islands).
The Pilbara region includes the local government authorities of: Ashburton, East Pilbara, Port Hedland and Roebourne.

- Agriculture – primarily beef cattle production for live export

Are you an unskilled worker, a skilled worker or a student?
Unskilled – You don’t possess any formal qualifications related to agriculture, horticulture or fisheries. You are qualified for employment in roles such as fruit/vegetable picker, deck hand, cleaner, farm hand/worker and more. It is strongly encouraged you complete some training in Occupational Health and Safety in order to prepare for work in a manual environment.
Skilled – You possess formal qualifications related to agriculture, horticulture or fisheries such as a forklift ticket, a truck license, experience driving agricultural machinery or a certificate/degree in a related field. You are qualified for employment in roles such as machinery operator, truck driver, stockperson, farm hand/worker and more.
Students – You are currently studying or just finished your degree. You might be a skilled or an unskilled worker when it comes to agriculture, horticulture or fisheries, but sign up as a student regardless!
