What is this Region?
The Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia is vast and diverse, from the rich red deserts with mineral wealth, the magnificent Great Western Woodlands, to the iconic white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters of the Southern Ocean.
A land area of 771,276 km² makes the region over three times the size of the state of Victoria, and just under a third of Western Australia's total land mass. It is the largest region in Western Australia.
The Goldfields-Esperance region also has a rich history in agricultural and pastoral activities and a noteable recreational and fishing industry. Southern parts of the region, including the Shires of Esperance and Ravensthorpe, contains its most valuable agriculture and fishing areas where the majority of the regions livestock and cropping occurs.
The Goldfields region includes the local government authorities of: Coolgardie, Dundas, Esperance, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Laverton, Leonora, Menzies, Ngaanyatjarraku and Ravensthorpe.

Are you an unskilled worker, a skilled worker or a student?
Unskilled – You don’t possess any formal qualifications related to agriculture, horticulture or fisheries. You are qualified for employment in roles such as fruit/vegetable picker, deck hand, cleaner, farm hand/worker and more. It is strongly encouraged you complete some training in Occupational Health and Safety in order to prepare for work in a manual environment.
Skilled – You possess formal qualifications related to agriculture, horticulture or fisheries such as a forklift ticket, a truck license, experience driving agricultural machinery or a certificate/degree in a related field. You are qualified for employment in roles such as machinery operator, truck driver, stockperson, farm hand/worker and more.
Students – You are currently studying or just finished your degree. You might be a skilled or an unskilled worker when it comes to agriculture, horticulture or fisheries, but sign up as a student regardless!
